1 can (14.5 ounce) stewed tomatoes
1 can (14.5 ounce) crushed tomatoes
1 pound hot Italian sausage
1 small yellow onion, chopped
1 green pepper, chopped
3 cloves garlic, chopped
1 tablespoon sugar
2 teaspoons dried basil
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
Blend the stewed tomatoes and crushed tomatoes in a blender.
In a large pot, brown the ground beef with the onions, peppers, and garlic.
Drain the grease.
Pour in the blended tomatoes and reduce the heat.
Add sugar, basil, and oregano.
Simmer for about 40 minutes.
Season with salt and pepper before serving.
